Photo taken probably at the event’s end as bikes currently have competitors numbers but are getting loaded. Disassembled Squire sidecar (with sponsor decals from Bob Heath Visors, BP, Sonic intercom and Bell helmets) was attached to T140E Triumph Bonneville and won the sidecar class. Yamaha RD250 in foreground won the 250cc class for Jeff Wilson. John Gaut (right) crashed out on his BMW R80GS ahead of the event began. Andy Reynolds (left) won the 350cc class on a RD350. Ron Wark’s KTM on trailer won the 175cc class.

Hubert Rigal est né le 10 décembre 1948.
Il a commencé sa carrière de pilote en 1970 par des courses de côte puis est rapidement monté en puissance jusqu’à la Coupe Kawa et, en 1975, une victoire au Tour de France moto sur BMW.
En 1976, il pilote une Honda officielle en endurance et remporte à nouveau le Tour de France.
En 1977, il termine sixième du Championnat du Monde 750 sur une Yamaha TZ700 (celle-là même qui figure dans cet album).
En 1980, il dispute le Championnat du monde 500 puis oriente peu à peu sa carrière vers l’automobile.
Retour aux sources en 2003, il s’engage au Moto Tour 2003.
A ce jour, il travaille dans la moto ancienne et se sert de son carnet d’adresses pour dénicher des perles rares.

IMZ – Irbitskiy Mototsikletniy Zavod (Ирбитский мотоциклетный завод = ИМЗ) is a Russian maker of heavy motorcycles (specifically with sidecars). In 1940, the Soviet Union acquired the style and production methods for BMW R 71 motorcycles and sidecars. The 1st M-72 model was completed in 1941. Originally factories were to be positioned in Moscow, Leningrad (now named Saint Petersburg) and Kharkov but due to the strategy of German troops, the Moscow facilities were moved to Irbit and the Leningrad and Kharkov facilities to Gorkiy (these days Nizhny Novgorod).

A comparable model is the Soviet (now Ukrainian) Dnepr motorcycle. Each Ural and Dnepr motorcycles are often known by the generic name of Cossack motorcycles. Among 1973 and 1979 Ural was a single of the tends to make marketed by SATRA in the United Kingdom as Cossack motorcycles. [1]
Chang Jiang, a Chinese motorcycle manufacturer, purchased the Ural M-72 production line to construct its CJ-750 (original designation Model 1957, M1).

The 75 was the only new model Rover created below BMW management. Production started in 1999 and ended when Rover went bankrupt in April 2005. This Tourer estate model was introduced in 2001 as was the MG derivative of the vehicle, the ZT. Today these models are nevertheless built in China and sold as Roewe 750 and MG 7.

Moto de fabricação russa, é uma versão pouco evoluída da alemã BMW R 71 do início da década de 1940. Este exemplar, raro no Brasil, está com placa azul, do Corpo Diplomático (CD).
Conserva, mesmo nos modelos de fabricação recente como esse, as mesmas características rústicas (para os padrões atuais) do modelo original.
